On Friday, April 24, UPAC hosted our first large-scale CARE Box distribution at the Neighborhood Enterprise Center. Over 180 boxes filled with 2-4 days worth of food staples, fresh fruits & veggies, toilet paper, gloves, hand sanitizer, information on the 2020 Census, and family activity, were provided using a drive-thru service. In addition to the boxes, warm meals from our Neighborhood Cafe were handed out, feeding nearly 1,000 individuals. Thank you to our partners Feeding San Diego, The San Diego Foundation, Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, and Price Philanthropies for making this event possible, and a special thank you to our Census 2020 funders, United Way’s CountMe2020 and Asian Americans Advancing Justice.
